A Few Hours Later, Seven Funeral Pyres Arose From The Courtyard From Where The Wedding Procession Set Out To Bring The Bride; Happiness Turned Into Mourning

Pramod Bhatt, Jhulaghat. The tragic bus accident that took place in Nepal's Baitari district bordering Pithoragarh district has plunged the entire region into deep mourning. The wedding procession bus met with an accident at 7 Badgaon turn under Purchuni municipality of Baitadi district. In this accident, seven people of the same family of Lagunasa village located in Bitthadchir-7 of Bajang district died. A few hours later, seven funeral pyres arose from the same courtyard from where the wedding procession had set out to bring the bride.

As soon as information about the accident was received, there was chaos in the village. There is mourning in every house and people's eyes are moist. Where there was supposed to be an atmosphere of celebration and happiness when the procession returned, now screams and lamentations are heard. Narendra Raj Joshi, Vishnu Dutt Joshi, Basant Raj Joshi, Keshav Raj Joshi, Ashok Raj Joshi, Kishan Dutt Joshi and Bishan Dutt Joshi lost their lives in the accident.

Narendra Raj Joshi was the ward member of Bitthadchir-7, while his brother Vishnu Dutt Joshi was working as an English teacher in the local Mahadev Secondary School. Basant Raj Joshi was his nephew among the dead. Keshav Raj Joshi and Ashok Raj Joshi were father and son, who died on the spot.

Kishan Dutt Joshi and Bishan Dutt Joshi died on the way to Dadeldhura hospital. In the same bus, the bride's younger brother Sushil Joshi, who was going to drop her to her in-laws' house, also became a victim of this accident. Not only Lagunasa village but the entire area is in shock due to this terrible grief that befell a single family. People shudder remembering this heartbreaking incident and are expressing deep condolences to the victim's family.
