Samvad Sutra, Lakhimpur. The residents of Lakhimpur, who were battling severe cold, fog and cold winds for the whole week, got a big relief on Saturday morning. The sky remained clear since early morning on Saturday and the weather felt warm due to strong sunlight. As soon as the sun came out, people felt relief from the cold and the effect of cold also decreased.
Even on Friday, the sun was out for some time, but due to strong cold winds the weather remained cloudy. The effect of sunlight was minimal and people continued to feel chilly. On the contrary, on Saturday morning the sun was so strong that after sitting in the sun for some time, the body started sweating. The wind speed also remained low, due to which there was a clear reduction in melting.
As soon as the sun came up, the localities became lively. People left clothes to dry on the rooftops and courtyards of their homes. Many people took off their warm clothes early in the morning and were seen in light clothes. Due to closure of schools, children were seen playing in parks and open fields enjoying the sunshine.
The elders also took full advantage of the weather. Many elderly people were seen sunbathing by placing chairs on the rooftops or sitting on cots. Local people say that this sunshine after a long time has brought relief to both body and mind. Due to this change in weather, life appeared to be normal and smiles returned on people's faces.
