Men participating in the running event of the All India Civil Services Athletics Competition. Awakening
Jagran correspondent, Patna. The national level All India Civil Services Athletics Championship concluded on Tuesday. 702 men, 328 women and 54 officials performed commendably in different age groups and events at the Patliputra Sports Complex. Players from many states and institutions won medals during the competition.
The state got three gold and one silver medals from the championship. Women players of Bihar especially made the state proud by achieving remarkable success.
Anjani Kumari of the state won gold medal in javelin throw, Shivani Kumari won gold medal in 1500 meter race and Rinki Kumari won silver medal in 200 meter race. Sunny Kumar won gold medal in men's long jump event.
In the Veteran Men (40-60 years) 4×100 meter relay, Haryana team stood first, while Central Secretariat Delhi stood second and NCT Delhi stood third. In the Women (35–60 years) 4×100 meter relay, Uttarakhand won gold, Kerala won silver and Central Secretariat Delhi won bronze.
In men's open triple jump, Pradeep of RSB Kolkata stood first, while Vikas of NCT Delhi stood second and Sumit of RSB Bengaluru stood third.
Rinki Kumari won silver in the race
Sunitha of Kerala won the gold medal in the women's (45-60 years) 200 meter race. Rinki Kumari of Bihar performed brilliantly and won the silver medal. Maria Agnes of Tamil Nadu stood third. In the women's (35-45 years) 200 meter race, Pavitra of RSB Bengaluru stood first, Ashalata of Karnataka stood second and Ramani of Gujarat stood third.
In the Women's Open 200m race, the teams of RSB Chennai, RSB Mumbai and RSB Kolkata secured first, second and third position respectively. In men's open 200 meter race, RSB Mumbai won gold, Maharashtra won silver and Haryana won bronze medal.
State got gold in javelin throw
The biggest achievement for Bihar was seen in the women's open javelin throw event, where Anjani Kumari of Bihar dominated the competition by winning the gold medal. In this event, RSB Bengaluru stood second and Uttarakhand stood third.
In the Women's Open 1500 meter race too, Shivani Kumari of Bihar performed brilliantly and won the gold medal, while Maharashtra had to be content with silver and Central Secretariat Delhi had to be content with bronze medal.
