Jagran correspondent, Lucknow. SP national president Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday targeted the BJP, playing the Hindutva card, over the controversy that arose with Swami Avimukteshwaranand during the Ganga bath in Prayagraj. The SP chief said that BJP is on the path of unrighteousness. Preventing Shankaracharya and saints from bathing in the Ganga is the biggest injustice. BJP is insulting Shankaracharya and saints and insulting Sanatan Dharma. If the government insults any saint or Shankaracharya, the Samajwadi Party will stand against it.

Akhilesh Yadav said that Shankaracharya should be fully respected. The government is putting pressure on the officials and getting a notice sent to Shankaracharya. The BJP government is asking for a certificate from Shankaracharya. If someone asks the Chief Minister for a certificate of being a Yogi, will he give it? What proof does he have of being a yogi? The BJP government has polluted the Gomti river. BJP's thinking is similarly full of filth.

Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak should prostrate before Shankaracharya and apologize. Referring to the Brahmin class conference held recently, Akhilesh took a dig at Brijesh Pathak and said that our advice is that first of all he should not eat Bati Chokha, otherwise the three statues (inspiration sites) installed will have to stand the same. Don't move, don't waver, don't speak. He gets scolded many times by the government of which he is the Deputy CM. That's why we can't tell the truth.

On the death of engineer Yuvraj in the accident in Noida, he said that the question is why all the government departments could not save his life after the incident? It is heard that due to cold water no one came to save lives. On the transfer of the judge who ordered the registration of a case against the CO and others in Sambhal, he said, how will the people of BJP transfer the truth?

SP General Secretary Shivpal Singh Yadav, putting an end to speculations about the possibility of any kind of alliance with Owaisi's party AIMM, said that his party does not need this alliance. On this occasion, Metropolitan President Fakhir Siddiqui, former State Secretary Vijay Singh, Ram Sagar Yadav, MLA Ravidas Mehrotra and former District President Ashok Yadav were also present.
