Drivers are being alerted on four lanes regarding fog.

Jagran correspondent, Padrauna. With the arrival of fog the pace of accidents has increased. On the instructions of the government, vigilance is being maintained at the toll plaza on NH 28 after nine vehicles collided with each other on the Yamuna Expressway last Monday night and 13 people were burnt alive due to the explosion of a CNG cylinder.

Regarding this, from 7 pm to 8 am, the toll plaza employees and officers are warning the drivers from the control room about the danger.

Hetimpur Toll Plaza Manager Satyendra Kumar Chaturvedi said that due to low visibility on National Highway-28, the risk of road accidents has increased. In view of this, the toll administration is taking special caution.

By announcing from the control room, drivers are being made aware that the speed limit should remain less than 30 km per hour. Also, if it is not visible, it is being advised to leave the road and park the vehicle. Apart from this, vehicles without reflectors are being installed by the employees.

Special attention is being given to tractor-trolley. Apart from this, drivers are being made aware at the toll plaza of Nonia Patti near Bihar border.

NHAI Project Manager Lalit Pal said that drivers are being made aware by running a special campaign regarding fog. They are also being prevented from moving forward when there is heavy fog.

Drive the vehicle using the white strip as a basis

Awareness is being raised not to change lanes during fog and to drive based on the white strip. Use fog lights compulsorily. Apart from this, long distance drivers are being advised to stop at toll plazas and take rest and drink tea to avoid sleep and fatigue.

For this, officers and employees of the sub-divisional transport department have been put on duty on the state highways in addition to four lanes, to install reflective tape on the backs of sugarcane laden trolleys and trucks in heavy vehicles and advise them not to travel in fog.
