Jagran correspondent, Bareilly. Ruhilkhand will also benefit from the green signal given to six new corridors along with highways and expressways in the Yogi government's budget. The proposed corridor from Bareilly-Agra-Jhansi to Lalitpur will make transportation by road easier from north to south. The special thing will be that Shamli-Gorakhpur Expressway, Ganga and Yamuna Expressway will also be directly connected to this corridor.

Bareilly is directly connected to Lucknow and Delhi by National Highway. Bareilly-Pilibhit-Sitarganj highway is being constructed to connect Uttarakhand. 50 percent work has also been done between Bareilly and Pilibhit. No expressway has been found yet. To overcome this deficiency, the process of building Shamli-Gorakhpur Green Field Link Expressway has started.

They are being evacuated from Nawabganj and Bahedi tehsil areas of the district. Now the fifth corridor of the proposed state will be built from Bareilly-Agra-Jhansi to Lalitpur. The biggest advantage will be that this corridor will be connected to Shamli-Gorakhpur Expressway in Bareilly, while there will be direct connection with Ganga Expressway near Binawar in Badaun.

This corridor will be connected to Yamuna Expressway in Mathura. It is believed that with the development of the corridor, new employment opportunities will be created in the districts falling along the route. However, regarding this corridor, NHAI Project Director Navratna and PWD Chief Engineer Ajay Kumar say that this proposal has not been made by their department.

Let us tell you that last year, proposals worth Rs 2500 crore were sent for the construction of roads and culverts in the district, out of which only Rs 318 crore was allocated in the budget. This included construction of new roads as well as repair of roads. This time proposals worth Rs 2700 crore have been sent, which includes a proposal of Rs 206 crore for six lanes from Satellite to Barrier Two.

However, now the process of making it eight lanes has been started. A proposal worth Rs 54 crore is also included to build an underpass to widen the road connecting the Tapeshwar Nath temple in the Nath corridor. The underpass and road through the railway yard is to be widened. Apart from this, a project worth Rs 500 crore for widening of Bareilly-Bisalpur road is also proposed. Proposals for assembly constituencies have also been sent on priority. This time the district is expected to get more budget than last year.
