Digital Desk, New Delhi. Voting for general elections has started today in India's neighboring country Bangladesh. Voting continues from 7 am Indian time. These elections are being held after the violent movement of 2024, due to which the then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who was ruling for 15 years, had to step down from the post.
This election is being held 18 months after the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government. Tight security arrangements have been made for the elections being held in Bangladesh. There is huge enthusiasm among the voters regarding voting. 12.7 crore voters are casting their votes for 300 parliamentary seats of Bangladesh. This is happening for the first time in Bangladesh elections, when Sheikh Hasina's party Awami League is out of the elections. There may be a contest between Jamaat-e-Islami and Bangladesh Nationalist Party in the elections.
