Allegation Of Molestation In Awadh-Assam Express; Young Man Beaten Badly By Passengers, Reached Hospital In Unconscious State

Jagran correspondent, Samastipur. In Avadh-Assam Express (15910) train on Tuesday, passengers beat up a young man for allegedly molesting a female passenger. The young man became unconscious during the fight.

On receiving the information, the Railway Police removed the accused from the train at Samastipur station and admitted him to Sadar Hospital for treatment. The injured youth has been identified as Divya Prakash, a resident of Siwan.

On the complaint of the female passenger, an FIR has been lodged at Muzaffarpur GRP police station. After treatment, Samastipur GRP handed over the accused to Muzaffarpur GRP for further action. During the search, no ticket was recovered from the young man.

According to the information, after the train started from Hajipur, the accused youth misbehaved with a female passenger. When the woman protested and raised an alarm, the passengers present in the train caught hold of the young man and started beating him. Meanwhile, the train reached Muzaffarpur station, where the female passenger got down, while the accused youth remained lying in the train in an unconscious state. After this the train left for Samastipur.

On the information of Muzaffarpur GRP, the youth was deboarded from the train at Samastipur station and immediately sent to Sadar Hospital. After regaining consciousness in the hospital, during interrogation the accused revealed his name as Divya Prakash.

The accused claimed that there was a dispute over the seat, after which the woman raised an alarm by accusing him of molesting her. However, the police is investigating the entire matter seriously.

GRP police station chief cum inspector Virbal Rai said that on the basis of the woman's complaint, a case has been registered and the accused has been sent to Muzaffarpur for further action under the judicial process.
