Digital Desk, New Delhi. The US has arrested a suspect in connection with the 2012 attack on its consulate in Benghazi, Libya. He played a central role in the attack.
US Attorney General Pam Bondi gave this information on Friday. Bondi said that Zubair al-Bakoush has been brought to America and he will face charges related to murder, arson and terrorism.
4 American employees died
Four American employees were killed in the attacks on September 11, 2012. The attack was initially thought to be a response to the protests, but was later determined to be a deliberate attack by extremists.
Some of them were associated with Al Qaeda. Zubayr is the third person to face criminal charges in the attack. Two others, Ahmed Abu and Mustafa al-Imam, are serving long prison sentences.
