In Purnia, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is holding a meeting with officials on important issues related to the India-Nepal border on the last day of his three-day Seemanchal tour. Officials from border districts, senior officers of SSB and BSF attend the meeting. Apart from this, senior officials of Union Home Ministry and Bihar Home Department are also present. According to the information, the Director of the Information and Public Relations Department (Information Bureau) is also present in the meeting. This meeting focuses on matters related to security of Seemanchal region, stopping infiltration and population and statistical changes.

Border security and infiltration prevention

The current situation of the border is mainly being reviewed in the meeting. Officials are discussing how to control illegal activities and infiltration in the border areas. Besides, officials are also being given information about the policies and upcoming schemes of the Central Government. The objective of the meeting is to make security as well as administrative work effective in the Seemanchal area. The Union Home Minister directed the officials to ensure effective monitoring and coordination at the local level.

Other leaders attending the meeting

Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai and Bihar Home Minister Samrat Chaudhary are also present in the meeting. Apart from these, senior officials of the concerned departments and regional administrative representatives are also present in the meeting. According to the information, the meeting was earlier to continue till 4:00 pm, but it was decided to complete it only by 2:30 pm. The meeting focused on several aspects of discussion, including security arrangements in border areas, condition of fences, surveillance cameras and field inspections, among other important topics.

The security and development of Seemanchal region is among the priorities of the Central Government. This meeting provided an opportunity to central and state level officials to discuss together regional issues and policy guidelines. Officials will use the findings of this meeting for further implementation and strategy formulation.
