Passenger facilities will increase at five stations including Meja Road Railway of Prayagraj Division of NCR.
Jagran correspondent, Prayagraj. Modern facilities are soon going to be expanded at five railway stations including Meja Road under Prayagraj division of North Central Railway (NCR). Due to the construction of the third railway line being laid between Prayagraj to Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay (PDDU) Junction, the need for new buildings, platform extension and Foot Over Bridge (FOB) is now being felt at these stations. In this sequence, the Railway Administration has prepared plans for various passenger facilities and new buildings at Meja Road, Vindhyachal, Pahada, Dagmagpur and Chunar stations.
Special attention is being given to Meja Road station
Meja Road station is being given special attention as it is planned to have stoppage of important trains like Amrit Bharat Express. For this, the width of the old platforms will be increased and they will be expanded. For the convenience of passengers, new shelters will be installed on the platform and a modern service building will also be constructed. Apart from this, in view of the increasing number of passengers, new foot over bridges and other passenger facilities will also be developed at important stations like Vindhyachal and Chunar.
Passengers will get the benefit of safe and comfortable travel
In this regard, Prayagraj Division PRO Amit Kumar Singh said that during the laying of the third railway line, development of these infrastructures at the stations is mandatory. The tender process for these works has been started and all the construction work will be completed by March 2027. The main objective of Railways is to complete these works with complete quality, so that passengers can get the benefit of safe and comfortable travel for a long time.
These will be the main tasks
A new platform will be constructed along with the station building and service buildings. The existing platform will be widened or expanded. Works like platform shelter, passenger facilities, foot over bridge etc. will be done.
