This arrangement has been implemented by CBSE by amending clause 2.4.12 of its Affiliation Bylaws 2018. According to the new rules, it will be necessary to appoint one counseling and wellness teacher for every 500 students. Along with this, services of social-emotional counselors will have to be made available regularly in all schools.

Important decision of CBSE regarding mental health and career guidance of students implemented

The district official associated with CBSE said that the provision of career counselor has also been made mandatory in every school to provide guidance to the students regarding subject selection, course options and future career. Earlier this provision was applicable only to large schools with more than 300 students from classes 9 to 12, while small schools were exempted from it.
