State Bureau, New Delhi. In view of the worsening situation of air pollution, the GREP Sub-Committee of the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has decided to implement the third phase of GREP with immediate effect in the entire NCR. Besides, instructions have been given to all pollution control boards and related agencies to take more stringent preventive measures. According to CPCB, Delhi's AQI was recorded at 354 i.e. 'very poor' category at 4 pm on Friday evening. According to the forecast of weather conditions by the Meteorological Department and IITM, due to low wind speed, stable environment and lack of dispersion of pollutants, the average AQI of Delhi may cross the 400 level and reach the 'severe' category in the coming days. The decision to install it has been taken keeping in mind the current state of air quality and AQI forecasts of IMD/IITM and with a view to prevent further deterioration of air quality in the area. This will be in addition to the actions being taken under Phase I and II of GREP already implemented in NCR.

These works will be banned under Grape Three

Grape's third phase of restrictions includes a ban on non-essential construction, demolition work, stone breaking and mining activities. A ban on BS III petrol powered and BS IV diesel powered four wheelers has also been implemented in Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar. This also includes a ban on old diesel-powered goods vehicles in Delhi, while classes in schools up to class five will be conducted in 'hybrid mode' (both online and offline) and offices in Delhi and NCR can function with 50 per cent staff.
