Punjab Vigilance Bureau arrested ASI Jasvir Singh posted in Mohali.

Jagran correspondent, Mohali. Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested ASI Jasveer Singh posted in Mohali red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 15,000. ASI had asked for Rs 20,000 to present the challan in the assault case. After this the complainant lodged a complaint with Vigilance.

The complainant had filed a case of assault against Suman Lata in Kharar police station, which was being investigated by ASI Jasvir Singh. When the complainant talked about presenting the challan in the court, the ASI asked for a bribe of Rs 20,000. The complainant had also recorded this conversation.

After preliminary investigation, the Vigilance team laid a trap and caught the ASI red handed while taking Rs 15,000 from the complainant in the presence of two government witnesses. A case has been registered against ASI under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
