Jagran correspondent, Meerut. The Central Struggle Committee has announced a complete shutdown of Western Uttar Pradesh on December 17 in view of the demand of the High Court bench.
In the joint meeting of Meerut Bar and District Bar on Tuesday in Subhash Chandra Bose Auditorium of Meerut Bar Association, it was decided that on December 17, markets and courts will remain closed and buses and tempos will also not operate.
The bandh will be made successful with the cooperation of the general public along with all political, non-political, social and business organizations. Meerut Bar President and Central Sangharsh Committee Chairman Sanjay Sharma and Convener Rajendra Singh Rana said that during the bandh, the operation of buses and tempos will be stopped in the court, all markets and on the roads.
On Wednesday (today), there will be a joint general meeting of both the bars in Pandit Nanak Chand Auditorium, in which all the advocates and candidates of Uttar Pradesh Bar Council have also been invited.
District Bar Association President Rajiv Tyagi, General Secretary Amit Rana, former President Ajay Tyagi, Gajendra Singh Dhama, Satish Gupta, Dhirendra Dutt Sharma, former General Secretary Amit Dixit, Sudhir Panwar, Devki Nandan Sharma, Anil Jangala were present in the meeting. On Tuesday, bar officials held a meeting with officials of Sotiganj trade union for Meerut bandh. President Raman Sehgal, Vice President Ajay Kumar, Chaman Anand, General Secretary Abid Khan announced their full support to the bandh and keeping the market closed.
Also held a meeting with officials of Rohta Road Trade Association. Trade union president Sushil Kumar, General Secretary Rajan Singh Tewatia, Senior Vice President Ankit Garg, Mohar Singh Saini announced full support to the bandh.
