BKU State Secretary Diwanchandra Patel said that it is true that the sugarcane farmers of the district are becoming disillusioned with the cash crop. The main reason for this is not getting the sugarcane price relative to the cost. The reason behind less sowing of sugarcane in autumn is that the accumulation of sugarcane is less during winter. In autumn, the priority of the farmer is to sow wheat and mustard. Due to this, autumn sowing of sugarcane is affected.

Sowing of sugarcane is less in autumn. As for the autumn sugarcane sowing this season is less as compared to the last season, there has been a nominal reduction in the sowing. It will be completed in the spring.
