Jagran correspondent, Dhanbad. Dr. Vinay Ranjan, Director (Personnel and Industrial Relations), Coal India, has held an important meeting with the management of coal companies regarding the proposed nationwide strike in the coal sector on 12 February 2026.
In this meeting, detailed guidelines have been issued to maintain smooth coal production and supply during the strike. Policy of no work, no pay: The management has made it clear that the rule of 'no work, no pay' (no work, no pay) will be applicable to the employees participating in the strike. At the same time, complete security arrangements will be given to the workers coming for work.
Keeping in mind the production targets for the current financial year, the Director has directed all subsidiaries to ensure that the strike has minimal impact on coal production and dispatch. Along with maintenance of essential services, instructions have been given to keep essential services like security, water supply, and electricity free from strikes and to run them smoothly.
Dr. Ranjan has asked the management to maintain constant communication with the labor organizations and motivate them to call off the strike by explaining the importance of energy security of the country. Instructions have been given to coordinate with the local administration and police to maintain law and order in the mining areas and offices.
It is known that this strike has been called mainly to protest against the implementation of four new labor codes. Major labor organizations like AITUC, INTUC, HMS and CITU are involved in it, while Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh has kept itself away from this strike. Meanwhile, during this meeting, BCCL Director Human Resources MK Ramaiah also held a meeting with the headquarters and area officials.
Control room will be established
BCCL CMD Manoj Kumar Aggarwal is also continuously monitoring this matter. Control room has been established from BCCL Coal Building to area level. Will keep an eye on this from the first shift till the end of the third shift on February 12 and will give the complete report to the headquarters. For this, a team of officers has been given special responsibility.
