Jagran correspondent, Rampur. So far, verdict has been given in 15 cases against Samajwadi Party's National General Secretary Azam Khan. He has been convicted in seven cases, while he has been acquitted in eight cases. The hearing of their cases is going on very fast. Decisions were taken in three cases in the month of November. This is the second case in the month of December in which a decision has been taken. Earlier on December 11, the court had also acquitted him in the controversial statement against the army case as the charges could not be proved. This is the third consecutive case in which he has been acquitted.
Among the cases of Azam Khan in which the decision has been taken so far, one is from Moradabad. On February 13, 2023, the MP-MLA Special Court of Moradabad had sentenced Azam Khan and Abdullah to two years imprisonment each in the case of blocking the highway in Chhajlat. Abdullah had lost his MLA in this. In the remaining cases, decisions were taken from the Rampur court. In this, he was sentenced to three years in prison in the case of inflammatory speech registered in Milak Kotwali on 27 October 2022.
He had appealed against the sentence in the MP-MLA Special Court (Session Trial). The sentencing decision was set aside by the Sessions Court. After this, on July 15, 2023, in another case of inflammatory speech, the MP-MLA Special Court (Magistrate Trial) had sentenced Azam Khan to two years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2,500. This punishment was given in the case registered in Shahzadnagar police station. In this, his appeal against the sentence has been rejected by the Sessions Court.
On October 18, 2023, Azam Khan, his wife former MP Dr. Tazeen Fatma and son former MLA Abdullah were sentenced to seven years imprisonment in the two birth certificate case. On December 23, 2023, a decision was taken in the case of assault on a neighbour, in which apart from Azam Khan, his brother retired engineer Sharif Khan, son Abdullah and nephew Bilal son Sharif Khan were also accused. Everyone was acquitted by the court as the charges were not proved.
After this, the verdict came against Azam Khan in the Dungarpur case. In one of these cases, in the verdict given on January 31, 2024, the court had acquitted Azam Khan and others. On March 18, 2024, Azam Khan was sentenced to seven years imprisonment in another case of Dungarpur incident.
Three days later, on March 21, 2024, the verdict came in the third case of Dungarpur, in which all the accused including Azam Khan were acquitted. After this, on May 30, 2024, the verdict came in another case of Dungarpur case, in which he was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 14 lakh. This is the biggest punishment so far. On July 31, 2024, in another case of Dungarpur case, the MP-MLA Special Court (Session Trial) acquitted Azam Khan and seven other accused.
On 11 November 2025, Azam Khan was acquitted due to lack of evidence in the case of inflammatory speech and election code of conduct violation. This case was filed in Civil Lines Kotwali on behalf of the then Deputy District Magistrate Sadar Prem Prakash Tiwari. The decision in two PAN card cases was given on 17 November 2025.
On 28 November 2025, Azam Khan was acquitted in the case of commenting on the daughters of former MP Amar Singh as the charges were not proved. On 11 November 2025, the MP-MLA Special Court acquitted him of the charge of controversial statement made regarding the army.
On Thursday again he got relief from the MP-MLA Special Court in the inflammatory speech case. He has been acquitted as the charges could not be proved.
