Jagran correspondent, Uttarkashi. In winter season, there is an atmosphere of peace due to the closure of the doors of Gangotri Dham.
At the same time, Kanwar pilgrims are reaching the Dham with DJ in four-wheeler vehicles like loaders etc. Due to this, due to the noise of songs playing at high volume on DJ, the meditation of saints and sages in Gangotri Dham is getting disturbed.
Expressing displeasure over this, the pilgrim priests have also demanded from the district and police administration to stop such activities in Gangotri Dham, which is included in the eco-sensitive zone.
Actually, the area of 100 km from Uttarkashi to Gangotri is included in the Bhagirathi Eco Sensitive Zone. Construction related restrictions are applicable here.
At the same time, many types of restrictions are in place here to protect the environment and wildlife. But here a large number of Kanwar pilgrims are coming to collect water from Ganga Bhagirathi river. But many of them are violating the rules and playing songs on DJ at high volume.
Due to this, the Sadhu Mahatmas meditating in Gangotri Dham are facing problems during winter season.
Pilgrim priests Rajat Semwal, Rajesh Semwal and local Narendra Singh say that there is no objection to the Kawand pilgrims coming to the Dham.
But the peace of the Dham is being disturbed by the Kanwar Yatris who bring DJs on their vehicles. The district and police administration should take strict steps regarding this.
