Jagran correspondent, Haldwani. On Thursday, a Muslim youth reached Sheetla Mata temple with a Hindu girl. When the temple committee chairman became suspicious after seeing him with a girl in the shed before the temple, he started inquiring. At first he started hiding his identity but after checking his mobile the secret was revealed.
Despite being engaged, he had brought the Hindu girl to the temple. People beat him up and called the police.
Although at the police station the girl and her relatives refused to take any kind of legal action. After which a complaint was submitted by the committee.
Every day a large number of devotees visit Shitala Mata Temple located in Ranibagh. On Thursday morning, temple committee president and BJP leader Sachin Sah was going towards the temple to take stock of the construction work.
A young man and a girl were shown sitting near the shed situated a little before the temple. Seeing the way of sitting, Sah interrupted and said that this is a temple and not a picnic spot. After which the young man started making the excuse of having a headache.
A young man from Ujalanagar works in a salon in Kusumkheda. After which the people present there even beat him up, talking about love jihad.
The police also called the girl's relatives at Kathgodam outpost but they refused to take legal action. After which the young man was released.
On the other hand, temple committee president Sachin Sah submitted a complaint saying that the Muslim youth was doing obscene acts. Due to which wrong message was being sent among the devotees.
Strict action should be taken in such cases. Meanwhile, CO Amit Kumar Saini says that the matter is being investigated.
