Garhwal MP Anil Baluni said on Thursday that a big relief has been received from the Supreme Court regarding the much awaited Laldhang-Chillarkhal Road Project related to Rajaji National Park area. With the construction of this route, the distance to Kotdwar will be reduced by 22 kilometers and the residents of Uttarakhand will not have to go through Uttar Pradesh to come to their own state.
Baluni issued a statement on Thursday saying that the Supreme Court, accepting his intervention application, has decided to lift the stay order applicable from the year 2023.
With this decision, there is a wave of happiness among the people of Kotdwar and surrounding areas and the way for the long pending road construction has been cleared.
MP Baluni said that the construction of the road will provide better transportation facilities to the regional people and will also promote tourism and local business. By reducing the distance between Kotdwar and surrounding areas, people will save both time and money.
Calling it a victory of the people, he congratulated all the residents of the area and said that the government is committed to the development of the area.
He also expressed special gratitude to senior advocate and New Delhi MP Bansuri Swaraj for strongly representing the people of Garhwal in the Supreme Court.
Baluni expressed confidence that now the road construction work will start soon and the development of the area will get new momentum.
18 villages will benefit from Laldhang-Chillarkhal road: Ritu Khanduri Bhushan
Dehradun. Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri said that the matter of Laldhang-Chillarkhal Road was under consideration in the Supreme Court for years, an important and historic decision was passed on Thursday.
With the Supreme Court granting permission for reconstruction and strengthening of this road, the path for development of the area has been completely paved.
Out of this approximately 11.5 kilometer long road, 4.7 kilometer portion passes through the Central Forest area, due to which the construction work was pending for a long time.
After this positive order of the court, now about 18 villages and population of more than 40,000 will get all-weather road connectivity. This decision will prove to be a milestone for the social, economic and educational progress of the area.
