Jagran correspondent, Ghaziabad. Work has started on the plan to run metro from Shiv Vihar to Mandola Vihar in Loni area. To get this ambitious project off the ground, the authority has formed a joint committee of various departments and started the physical survey of the route. The proposed Pink Line metro extension will be about 12.5 km long.

During the survey, it is also being seen through which department's land the proposed metro route will pass. If government land is available, coordination will be done with the concerned departments, while for private land, the situation related to land ownership and acquisition will be assessed.

It remains to be seen how much the project will cost if the metro is built entirely on government land. The survey will assess the feasibility of the project as well as the population that will benefit from it.

Giving the above information, GDA Secretary Vivek Mishra said that the metro extension will directly benefit Loni and surrounding densely populated areas and transportation from other parts of Delhi and Ghaziabad will be easy.

The authority claims that the survey report will be prepared in a month, after which a detailed outline of the project will be prepared and it will be sent for further approval.
