Ruckus in Mewar University of Rajasthan.
Jagran correspondent, Udaipur. A total of 33 students, including 30 Kashmiris, of B.Sc Nursing final year in Rajasthan's Mewar University were suspended on Wednesday. Since the suspension, the students have been sitting on strike in the university campus. It is alleged that the university has not yet taken recognition from Rajasthan Nursing Council and Indian Nursing Council for B.Sc Nursing course.
Without recognition, their degree will not be considered valid, putting both their registration and job at risk. It is alleged that earlier in 2024 also students had protested on the same issue. At that time, the university management had given a written assurance in the court that if recognition is not received by December 4, 2024, the students will be shifted to a recognized university, but till now no concrete steps have been taken.
Police reached the spot after receiving information about the protest. During this period, a scuffle broke out between the students and the police.
Gangrar police station officer Shyamaram said that the students are protesting peacefully. Students claim that not only 33 but more than 50 students may be affected by this dispute. At the same time, no official response has come from the university management.
