Jagran correspondent, Gayaji. Strict action is now being taken against cardholders who take unfair advantage of government ration.

A special campaign is being run in Gaya district to identify such ration card holders who file income tax returns, who own a four-wheeler or who are availing the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.

According to the information received from the District Supply Office, about 1 lakh 98 thousand 79 ration card holders of Gaya district have been found suspicious in the list sent by the Government of India.

Investigation of all these cardholders has been started from Panchayat level to ward level in urban areas.

Responsibility of investigation handed over to SDO and MO

The list of marked cardholders has been sent to all the Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs). After this, after investigation through Marketing Officer (MO), the names of the cardholders found ineligible will be removed from the ration card list.
