Ambala Health Department busts fetal sex determination gang

Jagran correspondent, Ambala. The joint team of Kurukshetra and Ambala health departments has busted the fetal sex determination gang. In this action, two accused Mohit and Rohit have been arrested, while Khurana Hospital's staff nurse Naina is absconding.

The arrested Mohit is an employee of Guardian Hospital of Cantonment. In this way, the staff of two private hospitals were jointly getting the fetus sex determined. Till the time of writing the news, the health department team was busy in action. The process of registering a case was going on in the city police station.

Rs 39 thousand in cash has been recovered from the arrested accused Mohit, which the Health Department team had given to the pregnant woman to give to the accused. On the request of Naina and Mohit, the accused Rohit had gone to Madan Ultrasound Center in the city to get the sex of the fetus growing in the woman's womb checked.

Kurukshetra team had received information

According to the information, the team of Kurukshetra Health Department had received information that fetal gender test was being done in Ambala. On receiving the information, on the orders of Kurukshetra CMO, the PNDT team prepared a pregnant woman for fetal gender test. The woman contacted Naina. Naina and Mohit finalized the deal for Rs 75 thousand. Nodal officers Dr. Gaurav, Rajiv and Manoj from Kurukshetra team left for Ambala from Kurukshetra at 10 am on Thursday in their car. On reaching Ambala, the Kurukshetra team informed the Ambala Health Department team. PNDT Nodal Officer Dr. Mukesh Kandara and Dr. Rishipal from Ambala supported the team and took joint action and caught the accused.

Accused found at Geeta Gopal Chowk

The decoy woman was called to Geeta Gopal Chowk of Ambala Cantonment. From here the accused took him to Jagadhri Gate of Ambala city. Where Rohit was assigned the duty of getting ultrasound done to check the gender of the fetus in the womb. Rohit took the woman to Madan Ultrasound Centre. The woman's ultrasound was done there. While leaving from here the team caught Rohit. After this Mohit was caught through Rohit. When the Health Department team examined the Madan Ultrasound Centre, the woman's ultrasound was found to be as per the rules. All the documents were also attached. That is why no action was taken at the ultrasound centre.

In the joint action of Kurukshetra and Ambala Health Department, two accused have been arrested under the PNDT Act. Accused Mohit works at Guardian Hospital while absconding Naina is a staff nurse at Khurana Nursing Home. The accused had put the accused Rohit on duty to get ultrasound done.
