Strike in more than 350 government banks except SBI, transactions worth Rs 300 crore halted

Jagran Correspondent, Varanasi: There was a complete lockout in the banks of the district on Thursday on the call of major labor organizations and AIBEA-AIBOA and Bank Employees Federation of India BEFI regarding their various demands. In this one-day strike, there was a complete lockout in more than 350 government banks except State Bank of India in Varanasi alone. Business worth Rs 300 crore affected due to non-availability of cash, clearing, transfer, NEFT, RTGS due to around 2,500 officers and employees being on strike. In support of their demands and against the government's decision, more than 250 employees raised slogans at the zonal office of Bank of Baroda and Indian Bank in Nadesar. Assistant General Secretary of UPBEU Varanasi unit and Minister of UP Bank Employees Union Varanasi unit Sanjay Sharma and President RB Choubey said that if the government does not fulfill the demands, they will be forced to go on indefinite strike. During this, bank employees took out a bike procession and protested at the divisional office of Punjab National Bank located in Cantonment with placards and banners in their hands.

Strike in LIC too, business worth Rs 3 crore affected

Varanasi: There was a one-day strike in the LIC office on Thursday regarding major demands. The locks of the offices remained closed and sloganeering, demonstrations, meetings and speeches continued throughout the day. The union demanded that new recruitment should be started in LIC in Class 3-4 group immediately, pension revision should be done immediately, family pension should be improved, IPO, FDI, privatization should be curbed, minimum wages should be ensured, changes in forced labor laws should be immediately stopped and there was a lockout in the insurance offices across the country today due to other demands. Hundreds of women and men colleagues remained on strike under the leadership of employee leaders Narayan Chatterjee and Sumant Kumar in the courtyard of Bhelupura Varanasi. Due to the strike, cash collection of LIC Varanasi division remained zero and business worth about three crores came to a standstill. During this, General Secretary Sumant Kumar, VK Singh, Pankaj Gupta, Sangeeta Gupta etc. were present.

Half day protest at Aaykar Bhavan, voice raised on pending demands

Varanasi: Under the banner of Central ICA, officials and members of Income Tax Employees Federation (ITEF) and Income Tax Gazetted Officers Association held a half-day peaceful protest at Aaykar Bhawan on Thursday. In the dharna, demands were raised for implementation of cadre review, pending promotions, finalization of all India seniority list of ITO, amendment in recruitment rules and restoration of ICT policy. Besides, demands were also made for amendment in the 8th Pay Commission, 50 percent DA-DR merger, OPS restoration, filling of vacant posts and stopping outsourcing.

With Lead: ECREU gives moral support to the general strike in protest against the four labor codes

Jagran Correspondent, PDDU Nagar (Chandauli): East Central Railway Employees Union on Wednesday gave moral support to the general strike in protest against the four labor codes implemented by the Central Government. On the call of the recognized union in East Central Railway, railway employees and laborers held gate meetings, street meetings and protests at various workplaces and raised slogans.

The gate meeting was presided over by the Union's Central Organization Secretary and National Vice President Comrade SK Sharma and Operating Secretary PD Chandrika Yadav. Assistant General Secretary Comrade Kiran Kumari said that the four labor codes are black laws imposed on the workers, which the union is continuously opposing. Due to this, policies like increasing working hours and cutting salaries are being implemented. National Vice President cum Central Organization Secretary SK Sharma said that railway employees are now completely united against anti-labor policies. Plant Depot Secretary Comrade Chandrika Yadav said that privatization and corporatization is being forcibly imposed on railway employees. The policy of 55/30 service review has been brought, first NPS and now UPS have been implemented, while OPS is not even being discussed. Plant Depot Treasurer Comrade Mrityunjay Kumar said that about three lakh posts are vacant in Railways, due to which there is heavy workload on the employees. At the end of the program, Plant Depot Secretary Comrade Chandrika Yadav expressed her gratitude to the railway workers and laborers present. During this, Central Organization Secretary S.K. Sharma, Assistant General Secretary Kiran Kumari, Plant Depot Vice President Seema Kumari, Joint Secretary Prabhat Kumar, Treasurer Mrityunjay Kumar and a large number of railway employees were present.

Transactions worth Rs 150 crore affected due to bank workers strike in Chandauli

Jagran Correspondent Chandauli: Bank employees remained on strike on Tuesday demanding implementation of five-day banking system, due to which transactions worth about Rs 150 crore were affected in 300 bank branches and 400 ATMs. At the same time, the striking bank employees demonstrated under the aegis of All India Banking Employees Association and Union Bank Employee Unions. People had to face problems due to the closure of banks. All employees of all banks participated in the strike. Due to the strike, on one side the banks remained locked and on the other side the shutters of ATMs also remained closed and bank employees were seen protesting on the streets. Chairman Rajiv Ranjan Singh said that the government wants to hand over the bank to private hands. Bank employees have been patiently waiting for resolution of various demands for a long time, but the repeated delays are extremely unfortunate. On this occasion, Secretary SP Dubey, Joint Secretary Shashibhushan, Ministers Ramesh Kumar Tripathi, Inderjit Singh, Satyajit etc. were present.
