State Bureau, New Delhi. The temperature of the capital has remained above normal for the last five days continuously. Due to bright sunshine throughout the day, people have started feeling the heat in February itself. The Meteorological Department has predicted further increase in temperature in the coming days.
On Thursday, Delhi's maximum temperature was recorded at 25.4 degrees Celsius, two degrees more than normal. The minimum temperature was 11.6 degrees Celsius, 1.4 degrees more than normal. Humidity level remained between 35 to 94 percent.
The Meteorological Department estimates that the maximum temperature will be above normal for the entire next week. Generally the temperature of Delhi is expected to be between 26 to 29 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature on Friday is expected to be between 26 to 28 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to be between 10 to 12 degrees Celsius. Wind speed can range from 5 to 15 kmph. There will be fog in the morning, while there will be light clouds during the day.
On the other hand, the increased wind speed has given a lot of relief to the people of Delhi from pollution. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi's AQI was recorded at 164 on Thursday. This level of air quality is considered “moderate”. A day earlier it was 305. This means that it has improved by 141 points in just 24 hours. The air quality is expected to remain around this level for the next two days.
