Video of cold drink refilling at Arun Jaitley Stadium went viral. video grab
Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. A video regarding refilling of cold drinks at Arun Jaitley Stadium went viral, in which it was claimed that a vendor was refilling the cold drinks left in the glasses in bottles, which would then be given to the people.
Now Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) has reacted to this viral video. He said that the process of bottling the remaining cold drinks was as per the event guidelines. Coca-Cola products were being sold at the stadium under agreed commercial agreements and operating standards.
The union clarified that this is not a matter of ‘refilling’ or reselling. What is seen in the video is part of the process of separating wet and dry waste. Leftover cold drinks were collected in bottles before being thrown away, so that the waste could be properly separated and sent for recycling.
The bottles are then collected and processed in accordance with the stadium's waste management and recycling policy. It was also informed that strict hygiene norms are in place at all match venues and environmental guidelines are followed.
The statement, signed by DDCA Secretary Ashok Sharma, said that the bottles were disposed of responsibly and food safety was not compromised in any way. The association has appealed to people not to draw conclusions based on incomplete information and share any content only after verifying the facts.
