Brajesh Pandey, Basti. Baba Bhadeshwarnath Temple, the most historical and mythological place of the district, will now be directly connected to Ram Janaki Marg. Every year 20 to 25 lakh devotees gather here. Jalabhishek is held every Monday. Seeing its importance, the government has included it in the charitable scheme. The road will be made five and a half meters wide for 21.85 kilometers from Ramjanaki Marg to Bhadeshwar Nath via Gaighat-Pratappur. Till now the road is rough and paved at some places.

More than Rs 50 crore will be spent on this route. This road will also be widened by the city side. Survey work for this also has been completed. Actually, there is flood in Baba Bhadeshwarnath temple during Kanwar Yatra. On the day of the Yatra, more than five lakh devotees join from different districts. The entire city gets destroyed. Devotees were facing problems due to lack of a better route from behind the temple, due to which a decision was taken in the District Magistrate's meeting to widen the road from Ramjanaki Marg side also.

To make the temple roads accessible, on May 27, 2025, Principal Secretary, Uttar Pradesh Government Mukesh Kumar Meshram had written a letter to the District Magistrate informing him that a lump sum budget has been arranged for the widening and strengthening of charitable roads. Following whose instructions, the Public Works Department has completed the survey work. Based on the traffic survey, an assessment of the present and future 10 years has been presented. Under which eight to 10 lakh vehicles move here every year.

About 30-35 villages will benefit from the construction of this road. This work will be done from the provincial section of Public Works.

In this scheme, the road reaching Bhadeshwarnath via the city will also be widened. Starting from kilometer five Kotwali of Basti Kante road, this route meets at kilometer four of Mahso-Mahuli road at Daridiha intersection via Channi Siaro and connects to Bhadeshwarnath temple. This route is used as an alternative when the traffic movement on NH-28 Lucknow-Gorakhpur is closed during the Kanwar Yatra in the month of Shravan.

About 20 villages are connected to this also. This is a major route for a population of more than 1.5 lakh. The design life of this road has been made for 15 years.
