State Bureau, Lucknow. The incident of suicide by three real sisters in Ghaziabad shocked the society. State Women's Commission Chairperson Dr. Babita Chauhan has written a letter to all the District Magistrates calling it heart-wrenching and dangerous for the society and has directed them to ban mobile phones in primary classes.
He has said that digital media is having a dangerous impact on the mental health of girls in particular. Prima facie, the reason behind the suicide of three real sisters is their addiction to playing games on mobile phones, which their father had opposed.
He has said in the letter that this is not only a loss for a family but is a serious warning for the society and the educational system.
Dr. Chauhan says that due to the lockdown during the Corona period, schools made arrangements for online teaching through mobile medium, but now despite the normal situation, many schools are sending children's homework, assignments and other educational activities on WhatsApp groups.
Due to this, children are not able to get away from mobile addiction. Due to their emotional and behavioral attachment to mobile phones, many children are getting trapped in uncontrolled gaming, social media and other activities.
The Commission has directed all District Magistrates to ensure that homework, assignments or other educational work is not given through mobile phones in all government, aided and private schools up to class five.
All academic work should be completed in the school itself and homework should be given to the students so that such unfortunate incidents do not happen again.
