Apart from China, Pakistan is now also asking American and Central Asian companies to join the exploitation of resources in the region. He has occupied this area illegally.
Recently Kazakhstan and Indonesia have shown interest in investing in gold and copper mining in Gilgit Baltistan. Senge Sering, a resident of Pakistan-occupied Gilgit-Baltistan, wrote in Washington's Global Straight View, "Apart from terrorism, many local activists believe that a main reason for instability in Gilgit-Baltistan is its strategic location and the presence of rare earths."
'Pakistan refuses to pay royalty'
It further read, "Pakistan's military seeks to exploit the resource without sharing revenues or compensation with the local people. Pakistan has implemented an illegal and unconstitutional Land Reform Act in Gilgit Baltistan, which continues to misuse the natural resource. When the local people demand a fair share, Pakistan refuses to pay royalties, saying the political problem is that the land became part of disputed Jammu and Kashmir." and therefore does not deserve constitutional and economic rights."
Supply is available in only a few countries
Sering, head of the Gilgit Baltistan Studies Institute (IGBS) in Washington, said that rare earth elements are processed and supplied in only a few countries, so Gilgit Baltistan's geographical location complements the efforts of the big global economy to bring diversity in the rare earth supply chain.
He said that the surrounding valleys of Tangir and Gilgit Baltistan are world-renowned mineral hotspots, where monazite, chevkinite, lanthanum, samarium, praseodymium, neodymium, cerium, titanium, thorium and other rare earth elements are abundant, and China's infrastructure upgrade efforts are making the Pakistan-occupied area a crossroads of Asia, the Middle East and Europe. Help is being provided in creating rare-earth hub.
'India will be helped'
He said, “Under such circumstances, the people of Gilgit Baltistan must remain united and continue their efforts to oust the occupying Pakistani colonial masters, who are only interested in exploiting and misusing the natural wealth and access routes, while denying their rightful political and constitutional rights. This determination and courage will ultimately lead to the recognition of the people of Gilgit Baltistan as constitutional citizens of India. "Will help in joining Ladakh and protecting both the territory and identity."
