'Bangladeshis' Intention To Separate The North-East Is Dangerous', CM Himanta Sarma Said This On Anti-India Statements

'Bangladeshis' intention to separate the Northeast is dangerous', CM Himanta Sarma

PTI, Guwahati. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday reacted strongly to the anti-India statements of some Bangladeshi leaders. He said that the intention of a section of Bangladesh to merge India's North-East with the neighboring country is irrational and dangerous. India will not remain silent on this.

Sarma was reacting to the statement by senior leader of Bangladesh's newly formed National Citizen Party (NCP) Hasnat Abdullah on Monday that Dhaka should isolate India's northeastern states and support separatist elements in the region.

Assam Chief Minister said in an event, 'For the last one year, repeated statements have been coming from that country that North-East India should be separated and made a part of Bangladesh. India is a big country. It is a nuclear-armed nation and the fourth largest economy in the world. How can Bangladesh even think of this?

He said that even thinking this is wrong, but the mentality of the people of Bangladesh is bad.
