Digital Desk, New Delhi. On Monday, February 16, two miscreants stole lakhs of rupees in Bengaluru's K Bidrahalli area. These miscreants entered the house posing as police officers.

The miscreants, posing as police officers, took the couple present in the house hostage by showing them a knife and a gun. The thieves escaped with Rs 20 lakh in cash and about half a kilo of gold.

Miscreants stole Rs 20 lakh

According to the local police station, 53-year-old Hombalegowda, his wife Mangallamma and their grandson were inside the house at the time of the incident.

An accused came in a private car wearing the uniform of a sub-inspector and carrying a diary in his hand. The other one, posing as a crime scene officer, entered the house carrying a bag.

After coming inside the house, the miscreants threatened the family members with guns and knives. The miscreants took the couple hostage and tied them with tape.

After this, the miscreants ransacked the bedroom and ran away with about Rs 20 lakh in cash and about half a kilo of gold jewellery. The couple's mobile phones were also snatched away.

The thieves took out the CCTV DVR from the house and took it with them before fleeing to destroy the evidence. Police have registered the case and started searching for the accused.
