Uttar Pradesh Housing Development Council is now going to develop a state-of-the-art township on a vast land of 270 hectares (about 667 acres) in the Jungle Kauria area of ​​the city. Land will be acquired for this. The state level selection committee has approved this place after technical survey.

Recently, on the instructions of the government, the state level committee under the leadership of Council Secretary Dr. Neeraj Shukla had conducted a detailed site survey regarding the possibilities of developing townships in Gorakhpur, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar and Kushi Nagar. After this survey, the committee has given technical consent on 270 hectares of land considering the geographical location and future needs of Jangal Kauria.

After the recent instructions given by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Housing Development Council has started implementing the plan for developing the township. As per the instructions of the Chief Minister, this initiative of the Housing Development Council is a link to establish Gorakhpur as the most organized city of Purvanchal.

Jangal Kauria Township will not only become the hub of modern lifestyle, but it will also change the future map of Gorakhpur. This is being considered a big step towards developing Gorakhpur as a global city as per the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Development of modern facilities and greenery on the basis of 50-50 formula. According to the master plan of Housing Development Council, this township will be developed by dividing it into two parts in a planned manner. Under this, as part of infrastructure development, wide roads, modern drainage systems, sewer lines, electricity sub-stations and large parks will be constructed on 50 percent of the total land (135 hectares).

Its objective is to provide an environment friendly open environment. Whereas, under residential and commercial development, residential colonies will be developed in the remaining part (135 hectares). Not only residential plots will be available here, but essential facilities like multi-storey flats, schools, hospitals, shopping complexes and police stations for security will also be provided.

Housing Development Council Superintending Engineer Ram Lakhan said that apart from wide roads, all modern facilities related to basic needs will be available in this township. Its work is being started soon by the architect department. The process of acquiring the identified land will start soon. There is immense potential for connectivity and development. Jungle Kauria area is very important because it is connected to Ring Road and Four Lane. Its proximity to Sonauli Road and Kushinagar Road makes it the 'hub' of the future. Superintending Engineer Ram Lakhan said that after getting approval from the state level team, now the process of land acquisition and layout plan will be expedited.

This mega project will not only provide homes to thousands of families, but will also create employment opportunities for thousands of people in the construction sector. With the construction of hospitals and schools, this area will emerge as a self-reliant sub-city (satellite town), which will reduce the population pressure on the main city. Housing development activity increased again in Gorakhpur after two decades. The housing development council's activism in Gorakhpur is going to be seen on such a large scale after about two to two and a half decades. Before this, the last colony developed by the council was of Vikas Nagar. Apart from this, planned colonies were developed by the Housing Development Council in Mahadev Jharkhandi, Shahpur, Bettiah Hata and Surajkund areas, which today are included in the major residential areas of the city.

This new township of Jangal Kauria will end the drought of the last 25 years and will give a new direction to the expansion of the city. Incorporating past experiences, this time the council is working on the concept of 'Smart City'.

After the survey by the state level committee, approval has been given to Jungle Kauria Township. According to the intention of the Chief Minister, an excellent township will be developed in Gorakshnagari.
