Australia T20 WC Super 8 Qualification: How can the Australian team reach the Super-8?
Sports Desk, New Delhi. Australia T20 World Cup Super 8 Qualification Scenario: The path has become difficult for the Australian cricket team captained by Mitchell Marsh after facing defeat in two consecutive matches. On 16 February, Sri Lanka defeated the Australian team by 8 wickets. While the Sri Lankan team has reached the Super-8, the Australian team is in danger of being out of the group stage. Whether Australia will reach the Super-8 or not is no longer in its hands. Kangaroo team needs luck here and if luck favors them then their chances of reaching Super-8 are very less.
Who will get the ticket for Super-8 between Zimbabwe and Ireland?
Australia had suffered a group-stage defeat against Zimbabwe. This was the biggest upset in the T20 World Cup 2026. If Zimbabwe team beats Ireland today, then Zimbabwe will become the second team from Group B to reach Super-8. Zimbabwe needs only one win to reach the Super-8.
Can Australia still reach the Super-8?
The answer is yes. The Australian team (Australia Men's Cricket Team Super 8 Chances) can still qualify for the Super-8, but for that it will have to depend on the results of the match to be held today. Australia will have to pray that Ireland beats Zimbabwe today and Sri Lanka also beats Zimbabwe in their last match, only then Australia will be able to reach the Super-8.
But there is a catch in this that Australia will also have to pray that if Ireland wins against Zimbabwe then this victory should not be big, because Australia has to play its last match against Oman. If Australia defeats Oman, then Kangaroo team, Ireland and Zimbabwe will have 4 points each. In such a situation, Australia can qualify on the basis of better net run rate.
In simple language, if Zimbabwe loses both its matches and Australia wins its last match by a big margin, then Kangaroo team's hopes of Super-8 will be saved, but if Zimbabwe loses even one match or wins, then Australia will be out.
