Ananth Kumar alias Tuntun Sah and Vipin Kumar Mandal
Jagran correspondent, Bhagalpur. In the election of District Council President, both the candidates have been betrayed by the councilors. Seven councilors have betrayed Ananth Kumar alias Tuntun Sah and four councilors along with Vipin Kumar Mandal. Seeing more benefits, five councilors have voted in favor of Vipin Mandal. However, neither Ananth Kumar nor Vipin Kumar Mandal is saying anything in this regard.

Reliable sources say that both Ananth Kumar and Vipin Kumar Mandal had used all their strength for the post of President. Councilors from both sides were on their respective sides. Ananth Kumar continued claiming to be with 22 councilors till the end. Stayed with the councilors and their families for 17 days. Councilors consumed food and drinks as per their wish. Took bath in the sea. Went to visit tourist places. Worshiped in temples and assured full support to Ananth Kumar.

Even on the day of voting, worshiped at Baba Vaidyanath and Budhanath temples of the city and reached the voting venue together. Ananth Kumar had no idea that the councilors who stayed with him for 17 days would vote in protest. Seven councilors voted against Ananth Kumar. Even after spending lakhs of rupees, Ananth Kumar had to face defeat. It is being said that Ananth Kumar reduced the welcome of the councilors who voted in protest. Such councilors betrayed Anant because of a two and a half paisa welcome. Five candidates got an advantage of five paisa, due to which they voted in opposition. Three councilors each from Kahalgaon and Bhagalpur sub-division and one councilor from Navgachia sub-division have betrayed Ananth Kumar.
Seven of Ananth Kumar and four of Vipin Mandal betrayed
Four councilors have betrayed Vipin Kumar Mandal. There were 19 councilors with Vipin. Two candidates each from Kahalgaon and Bhagalpur subdivision did not vote in favor of Vipin Mandal. There were 11 councilors who declared themselves to be from both sides. Such councilors ate for someone else and voted for someone else. Ananth Kumar said that 22 councilors were with us, but 15 councilors expressed confidence in us. Whereas Vipin Mandal was confident that there would be cross voting and we would win. It happened exactly the same. He says that the councilors have expressed confidence in us on the basis of our work. He has rejected the case of transaction. He said that due to the work and behavior of the last ten years, the councilors have expressed confidence in us. Anyway, Vipin Mandal has now become the District Council President. Vipin Mandal and Anant Kumar alias Tuntun Sah got 15 votes each. Then the toss took place and Vipin Mandal won the election.

Pranab Kumar won due to the support of 16 councillors. In the elections held in 2016, Ananth Kumar had the support of 17 councilors and Shiv Kumar had the support of 20 councilors. Ananth Kumar won due to cross voting.
