74 new notices issued to remove illegal encroachment from Bettiah Raj land

Dialogue Associate, Narkatiaganj. The zonal administration has intensified its action against encroachment on the land of Bettiah Raj. On Thursday, the zonal administration was once again seen in action mode, where on one hand the views of the encroachers were heard, while on the other hand, notices were issued to 74 new people under the Bihar Public Land Encroachment Act.
Circle Officer Sudhanshu Shekhar said that in the latest action, people of Semri, Sathi Bazar, Hichopal, Haraniya, Bhedihari, Parsauni, Sathi, Dharampur, Paroraha and Kala Barwa villages are involved. A notice has been sent to all of them and they have been given time till March 20, 2026 to present their views.
If satisfactory response is not received by the stipulated date, strict action against encroachment will be initiated by the administration. The CO said that administrative investigation has revealed that there has been large-scale encroachment on government land related to account number four.
The CO clarified that apart from farming, this land has been encroached upon by building a canal, road, school, garden, madrassa and residential houses. In this regard, notice form-1 has been issued maintaining encroachment case number 05/25-26.
According to the data of the zonal administration, till now a total of 829 people have been identified including urban and rural areas. In this, notices have been sent to 386 people only in urban areas. Whereas notice has been issued to 141 people of rural areas.
That means the zonal administration has so far sent notices to 527 people, while notices are being prepared against the remaining 302 people.
However, till now only 25 people have reached the zonal office and presented their side. This action of the administration has created panic among the land mafia and illegal encroachers.
