Digital Desk, New Delhi. The Supreme Court made important comments on Thursday to protect the Aravalli hills. The apex court stressed that all types of mining activities should be stopped in these hills.
The court said that until the central government and environmental experts reach a complete consensus on the topographical boundaries of the ecologically sensitive zone, the current situation should be maintained.

In response, the Chief Justice said, 'If you see the history, the Supreme Court is also in the Aravalli hills. The entire Jaipur city is in these hills which extend for 700km in north-west India.
Strict orders to maintain status quo
The court further clarified, 'We are aware that all activities, especially mining, for which licenses were given, have stopped. However, the status quo will have to be maintained for now. At least until some initial issues are gradually answered.
