Police caught the accused including Scooty, investigation continues.
Jagran correspondent, Jammu. On the information of the District Special Branch (DSB), the intelligence wing of the district police, the police have arrested two youths on charges of smuggling the drug heroin. 7-8 grams of suspected heroin has been recovered from the possession of the accused. Police have registered the case and started investigation.
DSB team Jammu had received secret information that two youths were going to supply drugs in Transport Nagar area riding on a scooter. Based on the information, the police took immediate action and set up a blockade in Transport Nagar. During the investigation, the police caught two youths along with the scooter.
The arrested accused have been identified as Rahul Kumar and Rohit Kumar, both residents of Rajiv Nagar, Narwal Bala, Jammu. Upon search, 7-8 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession. A case has been registered in this regard under the NDPS Act at Trikuta Nagar Police Station.
The police is interrogating the accused to find out from where they used to bring the drugs and to whom they used to supply them. Police officials said that the campaign against drug smugglers is continuing in the district and the drug trade will not be allowed to flourish under any circumstances.
