Jagran correspondent, Bhagalpur. The process of immersion of idols of Mother Saraswati continued on Sunday also. However, no untoward incident was reported during this period. But meanwhile, the people of Sachchidanandnagar in Tilkamanjhi police station area refused to immerse the idol of Mother Saraswati on Sunday.
On receiving such information, police and administrative officials reached there and talked to the local people in this regard. Local people said that they want to immerse on 27th January. Some beliefs were also given regarding this.
The police told them that as per the condition of the license they would have to immerse the idol on Sunday only. There was also talk of action being taken if this was not done. After that people agreed and the idol was immersed on Sunday itself.
Two brothers got burnt due to electric current during Saraswati idol immersion
Samvad Sutra, Nathnagar (Bhagalpur). A major accident was averted during the immersion of Saraswati idol in Rampur village of Madhusudanpur police station area. The incident is said to have happened around 4 pm. As soon as the immersion vehicle carrying the idol reached near Ramvati Kanya Middle School, a hanging high tension wire got stuck in the angle of the vehicle. The driver and the passenger of the vehicle, who are real brothers, were hit.
Both were seriously injured. Eyewitnesses told that the idol immersion decoration was done by making an iron angle on the magic cart. Due to the 11 thousand volt wire hanging down, the magic got stuck at the angle of the car due to which both the brothers got seriously injured. The injured have been identified as Amit and Abhishek Kumar.
Father Ramji Sah told that both his sons were going from Rampur to Musahari Ghat in a hired car to immerse the idol. Meanwhile this accident happened. He was immediately taken to Nathnagar Referral Hospital for better treatment. Where neither doctor, nurse nor compounder was present. Even after waiting for half an hour, not a single doctor came.
Madhusudanpur police sent both the sons to JLNMCH for treatment. Where doctors treated him in emergency. In this incident, both his sons suffered serious injuries at many places. After treatment at Mayaganj Hospital, doctors declared both of them out of danger. SHO Sagar Kumar, in-charge of Madhusudanpur police station, said that both the youths who were burnt by electric current have been admitted to Mayaganj hospital for treatment. The condition of both is out of danger.
