Swordsman Arshi Anand and Shruti Priya
Digital Desk, Bhagalpur. Two young fencers from Bhagalpur, Arshi Anand and Shruti Priya, left for Imphal, Manipur to represent Bihar in the National School Games. Bhagalpur Fencing Association General Secretary Rajesh Kumar Sah said that both the players have been selected for the Bihar team in the Under-19 School Games Fencing Championship held from January 29 to February 3, 2026.
Arshi Anand is a student of Carmel School, Bhagalpur, while Shruti Priya is a student of Sanjeevani Classes, Bhagalpur. Both the players will participate in the event organized in the morning. His selection was based on his performance in the Bihar State School Fencing Competition held in Motihari. In this competition, Arshi Anand won the silver medal and Shruti Priya won the bronze medal.
On this occasion, District Sports Officer Jai Narayan Kumar, Principal Sister Asha, Vice Principal Sister Jacqueline and Coordinator Sister Preeska congratulated the players. Along with this, Association President Dr. Tapan Ghosh, Vice President Dr. Pawan Poddar, Dr. Narendra Singh, Dr. Virendra Singh, Dr. Shahid Raza Jamal, Dr. Rajesh Nandan, Joint Secretary Rajiv Ranjan and Marwari Gymnasium Secretaries Nand Kishore Poddar and Ashish Saraf also congratulated Arshi and Shruti for representing them at the national level.
Association officials said that the selection of players from Bhagalpur at the national level is a matter of pride and expressed hope that both the players will bring glory to Bihar by performing excellently. He also advised the players to maintain discipline, hard work and sportsmanship.
