Bhagalpur will benefit from semiconductor and GCC policy

Jagran correspondent, Bhagalpur. There is enthusiasm in the industrial world about the approval of the state's first Semiconductor Policy-2026 and Global Competence Center (GCC) Policy-2026 by the Bihar Government. These policies are being described as a big and historic step towards making Bihar the technological and industrial hub of Eastern India.

In this regard, the current President of Eastern Bihar Industries Association, Govind Aggarwal and the newly elected President Alok Aggarwal issued a joint press statement and said that this decision will prove to be a milestone for the industrialization, investment and employment generation of Bihar.

He said that under the Semiconductor Policy-2026, capital subsidy, land availability and tax concessions will be given to promote electronics and semiconductor manufacturing in the state. The government estimates that through this policy, investment of about Rs 25 thousand crore will be attracted and more than two lakh youth will get employment opportunities.

Under the GCC Policy-2026, call centres, financial services, IT and consulting companies will be encouraged. Under this policy, a subsidy of up to Rs 50 crore will be provided to the companies, which is likely to provide employment to lakhs of youth of the state. Alok Aggarwal said that Silk City Bhagalpur can especially benefit from both these policies.

Its industrial tradition and strong educational infrastructure make it a suitable hub for semiconductor manufacturing and GCC services. He said that Triple IT, engineering colleges and local ITI institutes can provide start-up and employment-oriented specialized training to the youth. Govind Aggarwal said that these policies will not only give impetus to industrial development in Bihar, but will also create new opportunities for skill development, start-ups and permanent employment for the youth.
