Samvad Sutra, Ichaak (Hazaribagh). In the case of illegal trade of brown sugar drugs in Ichaak police station area, Ichaak police took major action and arrested six accused including a private driver and sent them to judicial custody on Wednesday.
However, many questions are being raised regarding the role of police in this entire matter. Among the arrested accused is Shubham Kumar, the personal driver of the vehicle of Ichak police station. The police have currently refused to make public the names of all the accused arrested in this case.
According to sources, the arrested people face serious charges of large-scale money transactions related to drugs trade. For this reason, the role of Ichak police in the case is also said to be under suspicion. If sources are to be believed, on the instructions of the DIG, driver Shubham Kumar was picked up for questioning from the Ichak police station premises on the evening of January 10.
After this, when the case came to light late in the evening of January 13, five other accused were arrested on his information. Everyone was sent to jail on Wednesday. It is said that the brown sugar business is flourishing rapidly in Ichaak police station area since last one year. The lives of dozens of youth from many villages have been ruined due to drug addiction, while the dominance of drug addicts has also reached its peak.
Sources claim that driver Shubham Kumar worked as a link between the drug dealers and the police, which boosted the morale of the businessmen. Police station in-charge Rajdeep Kumar has not given any reaction regarding the matter. He was seen avoiding conversation in this regard and his phone also could not be received.
Sources say that if this entire matter is investigated impartially and thoroughly, then not only many drug dealers but also some policemen may come under the ambit of investigation. This is expected to effectively curb the illegal drug trade in the area.
