बीसीडी चुनाव के अंतिम दिन लगा जाम।
Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. There was heavy vehicular traffic on many routes in the capital on Monday, the last day of Bar Council of Delhi (BCD) elections in the Delhi High Court complex. As a result, long queues of vehicles formed due to jams on many routes throughout the day and people kept struggling with the traffic jam.
Although Delhi Traffic Police as well as local police and PCR staff personnel were deployed to handle the situation, long queues of vehicles started forming in Delhi High Court, Bharat Mandapam and surrounding areas since morning.
According to Delhi Traffic Police officials, it was the last day of voting for the election of 25 members of the Bar Council of Delhi from 9 am to 6 pm in the Delhi High Court.
Traffic restrictions were imposed on many routes due to safety reasons, increasing pressure on alternative routes. Due to this, many routes like Mathura Road, India Gate Circle, Tilak Marg, C-Hexagon etc. were most affected. Unauthorized parking was completely banned on these routes and vehicles violating the rules were towed and sent to the traffic pit located on Bhairon Marg.
Keeping in mind the convenience of the advocates coming to vote in the Bar Council elections, special parking arrangements were made at Zoo Parking and Gate No. 5A of the National Stadium. Its objective was to prevent haphazard parking on main roads and maintain smooth traffic flow. Despite this, complaints of traffic jams continued to be received in various areas throughout the day.
