Jagran correspondent, Pilibhit. The Pharmaceutical Department has intensified the campaign against illegal drug trade and drug sellers who ignore standards. On Tuesday evening, the pharmaceutical department team raided several medical stores located in Brickgaon of Bilsanda area. License suspension has been recommended at two medical stores due to non-availability of documents for purchase and sale of medicines. At the same time, notice has been given to one.
DI Neha Vaish said that during the inspection in Brickgaon of Bilsanda area, when violations of standards were found at SS Medical Agency and Singh Medical Store, it has been recommended to suspend the licenses of both. SS Medical Agency, which has both wholesale and retail licenses.
During the inspection there, no record related to sale-purchase could be presented. The license which is mandatorily displayed at the shop was also not found at the spot and the mandatory provision of expiry box for maintaining expired medicines was also missing.
Only empty boxes were shown. Along with this, strong displeasure was expressed over the lack of sale-purchase records and other documents at Singh Medical Store in the town. Taking action against both these establishments, the report of their license suspension has been sent to higher authorities.
At the same time, Pandey Medical Store was also inspected and technical deficiencies were found there. The said store had only a wholesale license, but medicines were being retailed from there, disregarding the rules. On this, the department has issued a show cause notice to the concerned shopkeeper and sought his reply.
Medicine samples from the city's Medicare Medical Store have been found to have failed in testing. Drug Inspector Neha Vaish said that after receiving the reports of these samples, the department has declared the concerned medicines as sub-standard. In this, action has been initiated against the medical store operator and manufacturing company of Aceclofenac, Paracetamol and Serratiopeptidase. Besides, instructions have been issued to immediately stop the sale of the stock of these medicines and recall them from the market.
Raids are being conducted in the area regarding the sale of medicines. During the raid in Bilsanda area, medical stores were being sold against the rules. Action has been recommended against them. If anyone continues to be negligent regarding medicines in future, action will be taken against him.
