Big Decision Of Yogi Cabinet- 15 Lakh Teachers Of UP Will Get Cashless Treatment In Private Hospitals.

Digital Desk, Lucknow. The state government has given great relief to lakhs of employees associated with the education sector. In the cabinet meeting held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, it was decided that now teachers, non-teaching staff and their dependent families associated with the secondary and basic education department of the state will be able to get cashless treatment in government as well as private hospitals.

The Chief Minister had announced this on Teachers' Day last year, which has now been approved by the Cabinet. About 15 lakh teachers and non-teaching staff associated with basic and secondary education will benefit from this. The overall expenditure on this will be around Rs 448 crore. Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna gave information about the decisions of the cabinet in the press conference. He said that a total of 32 proposals came in the meeting, out of which 30 got the approval of the cabinet.

Under the decision, teachers working in aided schools under the Secondary Education Department (including subject experts and honorarium teachers of vocational education), teachers (including honorarium teachers) working in aided schools recognized by the Sanskrit Shiksha Parishad, teachers working in self-financed schools recognized by the Secondary Education Council and Sanskrit Shiksha Parishad and subject matter experts of vocational education working on honorarium in the government and aided schools of the Secondary Education Department will get the cashless facility of IPD (Inpatient Department) treatment.

Their dependents will also be able to avail the benefit of this facility. In the press conference, Secondary Education Minister Gulab Devi said that more than 2.97 lakh people will be able to benefit from this initiative of the government, while the estimated expenditure on it is Rs 89.25 crore.

Similarly, teachers, Shikshamitras, special teachers, instructors working in Basic Education Council schools and schools recognized by Basic Education Council (granted and self-financed), wardens working in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, full-time/part-time teachers and cooks of Pradhan Mantri Poshan Yojana and their dependents will also get the benefit.

Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh said that more than 11.95 lakh teachers and employees of Basic Education Council will benefit from this scheme. Due to this initiative of the government, the total annual expenditure is estimated to be Rs 358.61 crore based on annual premium of about Rs 3000 per employee.

Cashless treatment facility will be available in government hospitals as well as private hospitals associated with Sachij. The treatment rates will be as per the standards set by the Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat Jan Arogya Yojana and the National Health Authority. Teachers of self-financed recognized schools will get the benefit of the scheme after verification.

For verification, a committee will be formed in the districts under the chairmanship of District School Inspector and Basic Education Officer.

Apart from this, it has also been clarified that those who are already covered under any other health scheme run by the Center or the State, Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Jan Arogya Yojana or Chief Minister Jan Arogya Abhiyan, will not get its benefit.
