Dialogue Associate, Palampur. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has said that 800 constables will be recruited in the state in the coming two months. The youth are becoming disillusioned with the recruitment of Agniveer in the Army, so the Congress government will provide an opportunity to the youth to join the police.

The Chief Minister was speaking as the chief guest at a function organized at PTC Daroh on Wednesday to give appointment letters to newly recruited youth. The Chief Minister said that the government is also considering increasing the uniform grant of police constables.

He said that regarding the good quality of police uniform, the Director General of Police has been asked to procure good quality cloth from reputed companies. He said that the youth who have been recruited should accept it not as a job but as a responsibility. He said that he is addressing here not as a Chief Minister but as a friend of the youth.

He said that today, the fight against a menace like Chitta, which is bent on spoiling the future of the youth of the state, is not only of the government but of the entire society, in which the youth recruited in the police can also play an important role in breaking the back of the drug mafia.

He said that 12 police personnel involved in the drug trade have been removed from their jobs by the government and in the coming time, such personnel involved in other departments will have to lose their jobs who will be involved in the black trade of chitta.

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the role of the state police in handling sensitive cases has been commendable. He said that during the tenure of the BJP government, the police constable recruitment paper was leaked, but during the time of the Congress government, complete transparency was maintained in police recruitment and the written examination was also conducted by the Lok Sangh Service Commission.

He said that the youth who have joined the police today have come forward on the basis of their ability and merit. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also administered oath to all the police personnel to fight against drugs.
