Sports Desk, New Delhi. Former great Indian captain MS Dhoni had said goodbye to international cricket in the year 2020. After this he is seen playing only in IPL. After retirement, Dhoni is neither coaching any team nor is seen doing commentary. In such a situation, now Dhoni has answered why he is not seen doing commentary.
Dhoni believes that commentary is an art and apart from this he does not even remember the statistics, hence he stays away from commentary. He believes that during commentary you have to speak thoughtfully so that no one feels bad. Dhoni has given many reasons for commentary, due to which he stays away from it.
MS Dhoni told the reason
Dhoni was recently seen interacting with sports broadcaster Jatin Sapru on YouTube. Responding to the question of not commentating, Dhoni said, "Commentary is very difficult. I think there is a very fine difference between talking about the game and criticizing the players. There will be times when you don't realize that what you are doing might be a little wrong."
Dhoni further said, you always want to talk about sports. If you feel something is wrong, then say it openly. However, how to say it is also an art. You have to word that criticism in such a way that no one feels that he is being targeted. If the team is losing, what are the reasons behind it and you have to explain those reasons in such a way that no one feels bad."
I am not good at statistics: Dhoni
He said, commenting is an art. Apart from this, if you have to do commentary, then you should also know the figures well. I am not good at statistics. There are many people who know statistics very well but if you ask me about my statistics, my answer will be nothing but yes. There are some people who know not only about the Indian team or Indian players but about the statistics of almost all the players in the cricket world.
