Jagran correspondent, Rairangpur. President Draupadi Murmu was on a visit to her home town Rairangpur on Wednesday. During this time the entire city was seen immersed in festive colours. The President laid the foundation stone and inaugurated schemes worth crores of rupees for the development of the area. Besides, he once again won the hearts of the people of Rairangpur with his easy-going and friendly style.

In a grand program organized at Kachari Ground at 3 pm, the President laid the foundation stone of many important projects for the future of Rairangpur. These include:

Seeing the enthusiasm of the crowd standing on both sides of the road, the President left her security protocol aside and reached the general public on foot. He folded hands and asked about the well-being of the people. The most emotional moment came when he called two small children to him, caressed their cheeks and presented them with big chocolates.

Salutation at the feet of Puneshwar Mahadev

Amidst her busy schedule, the President reached Puneshwar Mahadev Temple, where she offered prayers as per rituals and prayed for the prosperity of the country. After this, he participated in the Platinum Jubilee program of the Girls Higher Secondary School run by the Scheduled Tribe and Caste Development Department and unveiled the statue of founder Bhanjveer Sunaram Soren.
