Jagran correspondent, Unnao. There is good news for Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh. Now there will be no need to destroy them by building temporary helipads. Following the instructions of the government, land for the helipad has been obtained. 19 helipads are to be prepared in the district.
The Chief Secretary in VC had given instructions to the district administration to restore the facility of helicopter movement from the headquarters to the block for VIP movement in the district. As part of the exercise, the government had recommended the construction of 19 helipads to the district administration. After which the district administration had given the responsibility of arranging land for the construction of helipad to the SDMs of six tehsils of the district. The proof of District Magistrate Gaurang Rathi's activeness in the matter is that the SDM has arranged for land to build 15 out of 19 helipads under his tehsil. The land management exercise for the remaining four helipads is going on.
After arranging the land, the Public Works Department has started the exercise of building a helipad. A helipad will cost around Rs 40 lakh. At present there is not a single permanent helipad in the district. Temporary helipads are made when ministers arrive. Which become useless after one use. This leads to wastage of government money. XEN Subodh Kumar told where the land has been found. A proposal for a helipad and approach road has been sent to the government there.
